El Chocolate Caliente

Our new song this month will help us feel warm and cozy as el invierno (winter) creeps in because it’s all about chocolate caliente (hot chocolate).

El chocolate caliente

Que rico el chocolate caliente

El chocolate caliente

Que rico el chocolate caliente

Cho-co-la-te

Bate, bate, bate chocolate

Cho-co-la-te

Bate, bate, bate chocolate

Dia De Los Muertos

In Spanish we have been talking about Dia de los Muertos. We are learning that it’s celebrated in Mexico on November 1 and 2 and that it is believed the souls of the dead come over to the world of the living. Soon we will be making our own calavera (skull) masks to take home!

In the meantime, there is a great celebration at the Children’s Museum of the Arts on Sunday, November 1. There will be fun workshops and activities! It’s a great way to connect to the curriculum at school and have a new and exciting cross-cultural experience!
